SU(N) Elastic Rescattering in B and D Decays

چکیده

The treatment of elastic final state interactions (FSI) under a symmetry group is presented. The proposed method is based on Watson’s theorem, i.e. on symmetry properties of the S-matrix and on its unitarity. This theorem provides an easy way to introduce rescattering effects by defining final state interactions mixing matrices. A symmetry group fixes the structure of such mixing matrices, and the passage from one group to another is studied (for example, SU(2) to SU(3)). Mixings among two charmless pseudoscalar decay product states will be systematically analyzed. Finally, these mixing matrices will be used on quark diagram parametrizations of B and D decay amplitudes. This will have some important consequences on the definition of quark diagrams. It will be argued that these diagrams should not contain any FSI effects, i.e. they should be real (except for CKM factors). FSI are then introduced at the hadronic level, by mixing basic quark diagram topologies. ∗e-mail : [email protected]

Final-state Rescattering Effect on Bd → ππ Decays and CP Violation

The significance of final-state interactions inBd → ππ decays is quantitatively demonstrated by taking elastic ππ ⇀↽ ππ and inelastic ππ ⇀↽ DD̄ rescattering effects into consideration. We find that the present experimental data on B d → ππ can well be understood in this approach without fine-tuning of the input parameters, and large CP-violating asymmetries are expected to manifest themselves in...

We discuss the final state interaction effects at high energies via a multichannel N/D method. We find that the 2 by 2 charge–exchange final state interactions typically contribute an enhancement factor of a few times 10−2 in the B meson decay amplitudes, both for the real and the imaginary part. We also make some discussions on the elastic rescattering effects. PACS numbers: 11.55.Fv, 11.80.Gw...

Searching for dominant rescattering sources in B to two pseudoscalar decays

Various rescattering sources are analyzed in the context of the SU(3) flavor symmetry. In particular, the possibility to account for intermediate charm at the hadronic level in B to PP is thoroughly investigated. Then, the rescattering sources are compared in light of recent B to two charmless pseudoscalar decay measurements, with emphasis on the size of strong phases and on patterns of direct ...

Analysis of γ Determinations from B → πK Decays Andrzej

We present a general parametrization of B → πK, π0K± and Bd → π0K, πK decays, taking into account both electroweak penguin and rescattering effects. This formalism allows – among other things – an improved implementation of the strategies that were recently proposed by Neubert and Rosner to probe the CKM angle γ with the help of B → πK, π0K± decays. In particular, it allows us to investigate th...
